Tokeno manages the queue at a clinic. It is not a medical service and gives no medical advice. These terms set out what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you.
By creating an account or using Tokeno you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. If you use Tokeno on behalf of a clinic, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for that clinic.
Tokeno is software for managing a clinic's queue. It lets a patient take a token, see roughly where they are in the line, and view what the doctor recorded afterwards. It lets clinic staff run the queue, and lets a doctor record consultation notes and a prescription.
Tokeno does not provide medical care or advice. Every clinical decision, diagnosis and prescription is made by a registered medical practitioner at your clinic. Tokeno records what they enter. It does not check it, interpret it, or advise on it.
Tokeno is not for emergencies. If you need urgent care, go to a hospital or call emergency services on 112. Do not wait in a queue.
We do not employ, supervise, endorse or vouch for any clinic or doctor using Tokeno, and we are not responsible for the care they provide. A token is a place in a line, not an appointment guaranteed by us, and not a promise that a doctor will be available.
Tokeno does not process payments. Where a clinic uses Tokeno to note that a consultation fee was collected, that is a record for the clinic's own bookkeeping. Money passes directly between you and the clinic. We do not hold funds, do not issue refunds, and are not party to any dispute about a fee. Take that up with the clinic.
Notes and prescriptions recorded in Tokeno belong to the clinic that created them and to the patient they concern. You can see your own records in your visit history. Under the National Medical Commission's Code of Ethics, a clinic must supply a patient's medical records within 72 hours of a documented request.
A record in Tokeno is not a substitute for the clinic's own record-keeping obligations, and it is not a legally issued prescription unless it carries everything the law requires of one, including the prescribing doctor's registration particulars.
We work to keep Tokeno running, but we do not guarantee it will be available without interruption. It depends on networks, devices and third-party infrastructure we do not control. Clinics should be able to keep running their queue if Tokeno is unavailable — do not build a process that fails when we do.
We may change or discontinue features. Where a change materially affects clinics, we will give reasonable notice.
Do not:
Tokeno, its software, design and brand belong to us. Using the service gives you permission to use it as intended; it does not transfer any ownership. Your clinical data remains yours — or your clinic's — and we claim no ownership over it.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, Tokeno is not liable for medical outcomes, for a clinic's acts or omissions, for a missed turn or a delayed consultation, or for loss of profits, revenue or goodwill. Where we are liable, our total liability to a patient is limited to the amount that patient paid us, which for patients is nil; and to a clinic, to the fees that clinic paid us in the three months before the claim.
The service is provided as-is, without warranties beyond those implied by law.
You may close your account at any time by writing to us; see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we must to protect other users or comply with the law. Where circumstances allow, we will tell you why.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
